It crossed my mind the other night about this. On the old air cooled bugs they had 8mm studs they went to 10 mm and they promptly started pulling the threads out of the cases. The ultimate fix was about a 12 or 13 mm "case saver" insert and going back to 8 mm ... Login to read more.
