The Pierce engine technically is exempt from DEF and DPF/EGR requirements, but most Mfg's work off a std chassis and find it harder to spec out a factory chassis one thats not normal. I don't know any of the US fire truck Mfg's who use a non smog legal chassis... Login to read more.
