Well, as usual, Jeff has more knowledge than I. From my memory, which tends to fade a bit more every year, that old Ford I worked on had only two speed axles. But combined with the 5 and 4 speed gearboxes, ya' still got 40 speeds forward. Ain't that enough? :)... Login to read more.
