What is fuel pressure doing during all of this? I've never had a HP oil pump cause this kind of symptom--it's either a no-start, lack of power, or it just falls on its face at WOT, but not at 2/3-3/4 throttle. Maybe a sticking check valve at the oil rail stand... Login to read more.
