The timing mark is the injection pump keyway. Key up is #1 TDC, Key down is #6 TDC. Cummins' says that adjustment isn't needed until 150K, I find them loose at 75-100K. Proper adjustment restores power and reduces exhaust smoke and crankcase blowby. Login to read more.
