I'm glad you have it running, I suspect it's not over yet. The transfer pump may have picked up some crap from the tank or it may weak. DO NOT install the in-tank conversion from Dodge. Buy the pump from Cummins only, 4943048. Have you checked it for codes? Login to read more.
