Sounds like it is similar to our Kodiak snowplow rig where the tach is driven off the alternator. Since it is a half-wave rectified circuit, at the alternator, check for a B+ reading of 6V and then switch your DVOM to frequency reading. The frequency will rise... Login to read more.
