I just did this in class 15 minutes ago. My rule of thumb is 25% temp differance. Used a 99 dodge cummins in shop, good running motor temps ranged at idle 145 to 165 with temp gun right at cylinder head,on the exhaust manifold. The hottest ones were the two cy... Login to read more.
