I think you might be on the right track, Gary. Does the noise coincide with rpm, i.e. does it get louder or faster with increasing rpm? Can you retrieve codes? If so, any cam sensor or timing-related codes, or oil pressure codes might reinforce your diagnosis.... Login to read more.
