This chart shows that 15w-40 is not to be used at temps lower than 10F. [Oil Usage Chart, 7.3 PSD]You should be using 0w-30, and maybe a synthetic. I'd do a backyard test with some oil cans set outside overnight and see which flows best at your temps.
