I think you just nailed the problem in your description, Fred. I used to service a small fleet of vacuum trucks in Ontario with these same PTO's. They were mostly 6.5T in C3500's, also some Duramax units. The PTO ran a large pulley which powered a large(!) fan... Login to read more.
