I am not aware of KOH "catalyzing" H2 release from H20. Solid sodium, NA, or potassium, K, replace H from water giving H2 and KOH. As kids we would get metallic sodium in cans of oil. You can cut it with a knife. When chunks are tossed in water, the hydrogen w... Login to read more. ![]()
