IH TSI 96-08-06 addresses this very issue. Reading the TSI, it led me to believe the wrong switches were being used? In any event, it states the red switch 2035274C1 is used in Cat, Cummins, Detroit electronic engines, electronic only, 1994-later (as you said)... Login to read more.
