You're close. Its caused by the combo of hot carbon (ignition source) and unburned fuel (ignition off) coming through the engine. Leaky power valve=rich mixture=carbon build up. Cleaning out the mufflers should get you a year or two. Idle it down as much as po... Login to read more.
