I don't see any reason why it would be a problem. The exhaust brake function on those trucks is accomplished by closing the vanes of the variable geometry turbo, causing backpressure. In theory, it would help warm up the engine at idle, because the exhaust heat is kept in the engine area more instead of flowing out the exhaust system.
