There is not a gasket that deteriorates. There IS an aluminum spacer/gasket between the bowl and carb leg that is easy to lose. EPA says the carb needs replaced. Sounds silly for a stuck cutoff solenoid. Sometimes "totally glued" can be substituted for "stuck"... Login to read more.
