Hi Charles, I agree (pretty much) with Stephen and Harold. Many 1980 2.0L Spiders were still carbureted. The fuel pump lobe on the rear of the auxilary shaft will hit the top of number 2 connecting rod if the t/belt breaks or the two shafts are not aligned pro... Login to read more.
