I recently purchased a NEW 3.4 GM (3yr/50000, and had almost everything on it -less intake & water pump) for LESS than their reman "Goodwrench" unit...(less than 2k). I'd check around for dealers who buy "truckload" engines, they sure came through for me. Login to read more.
