Honda timing belt in dry hot climates

Hi Folks,

My daughter lives in the Las Vegas area. She has a 97 Honda. The first timing belt is due at 90K miles. Her local Honda Dealer says she should change the belt at her 60K service for that climate rather than wait until 90K miles as per the book.
