Our recently rewritten Maine Motor Vehicle Inspection Manual contains this somewhat bewildering passage:

"Reject vehicle if it is a front wheel drive vehicle with studded tires only on the front. Front wheel drive vehicle must have four studded snow tires". Login to read more.
