Worldwide BAR 97 repair service is impossible
Posted to Shop Management Forum on 12/30/2019 15 Replies

Our shop locates in San Francisco bay area. We bought an "upgrade" BAR 97 machine from Worldwide in 2018. Upgrade was a mandate from State of California. Our machine failed gas calibration about 1 months ago. Worldwide did a "remote viewing" and decided that it needs a oxygen sensor. Repair can only be done by authorized vendor. Since then, despite numerous service requests to Worldwide, we have not seen any technician show up. Machine has been down since December 3, 2019, and counting.

Needless to say, we have been losing smog check business [those smog check required BAR 97]. CA BAR is no help either. BAR stated that they will not help us with any vendor issues. There is no third party to repair BAR 97 machine. Only option is to wait for Worldwide to come. But when??

Does any shop have similar service experience with Worldwide? We believe our experience is not unique! Any suggestion?
