On an M engine I have not seen 2.5 quarts per thousand miles but I have seen a quart to 500 with the OE oil and letting it in there about 15000 miles. It will start out at about a quart to 1500 miles and deteriorate from there. I have seen a couple of them do ... Login to read more.
