Re: This will be a good test concerning holding the vehicle
In Virginia Code Section 18.2-189 covers this. I had a
similar situation a couple years ago and the local sheriff,
the magistrates office, and the Commonwealth Attorney would
not do anything because they said a person could not "steal"
their own vehicle.
