I would think the screws would be to "pin in"...or "secure" a LOOSE SUBSTRATE and not just the outter heatshield....I would have told him the same as OP....with the warning NOT to get a "white box" ..or "generic" cat. installed to fix his "rattle"...There is a... Login to read more.
