My dad had an OLDS 5.7L Diesel years ago and it ran great-after timing the pump properly- but with no warning a wrist pin seized and BOOM!!! Ventilated the block and the big end of the broken rod was smooth as silk on the crank journal- as you describe.... Login to read more.
