I was wondering the same thing. Simply out of fear, I stock the BMW 5w30 for those applications. Apparently Castrol 10w60 is permissible, but I have never used any. My oil distributor supplies the BMW oil to the BMW dealership (a Castrol product), & he says si... Login to read more.
