Hal, being from CT, I'm guilty of using my wipers to clean off light frost using the washer pump. Tears them up. Also up here we have a lot of sand-blasted windshields. Also tough on blades. I've been using Rain-x for a long time. Even bad blades will work wel... Login to read more.
