Ok, in italian cheese is "formaggio"(masculine). Therefor its origin (Parma)must become masculine as well (parmigiano). "Parmigiana" on the other hand describes any dish prepared in that particular style...i.e veal ,"vitello alla parmigiana".(feminine). Romano... Login to read more.
