2004 Volkswagen Jetta GLS 1.8L Chain tensioner VIN: 3VWSE69M94
I used the special tool to compress the tensioner. It allowed me to lift the tensioner off the head just enough to replace the half moon seal and the gasket. I didn't put the engine at TDC but luckily the cams did not move at all when the chain was slackened...
