| 1999 Mitsubishi Montero Sport LS 3.0L cooling system VIN: JA4LS31H6X Thank you for all of your suggestions. I did replace the thermostat and the problem seems to be gone. I also pulled a vacuum on the system before filling it with antifreeze. No problems for now and hopefully it stays fixed. Thanks again to everyone. |

The test for the valve is to remove it and see if one can blow through the port on the bottom of the valve that exhaust flows through. If you can blow through it than it has failed.
