Thanks to everyone for all the great input, now the trouble is locating SAE 90W GL5 or GL6 differential oil. Everything I have found at the parts houses is multi viscosity. I can only locate it online.

Thanks for all your inputs. The problem was the "L" shape bracket on top of the trans that connect to the shifter linkage. The bracket have a stub that stick up for pushing the actual gear lever into first and second gear. The stub been grind away due to wear....
