Thanx Guys for all your help. The vehicle did have air leaks and dodgey hoses but all did not fix the problem. So I replaced the DME and all is good now and runs like a clock. Thanx again

2003 Dodge Neon 2.0L compressor
Low pressure switch was bad. After checking many other possibilities including the computer I decided to jump the low pressure switch again, and the compressor came on. Check and recheck was the lesson here. Thanks for all the replies and help.

Looks like I stumbled upon a couple of problems. Battery voltage started dropping as the van got hot. Thinking I had a faulty alternator, I found a burned and shorted battery cable near one of the pulleys. A crank sensor was a less expensive guess than a PC...
