Thanks guys, all of the responces were great info and after removing the cats I found both of them had damage. The front was a lot worse than the rear but both had to be replaced. Your help was great and I am really thankful. 1993 Nissan Pickup 2.4L Poor Idle Quality, Misfire
I think the problem was egr related. I pushed up on the egr valve to check for sticking. I then connected a vacuum pump to the valve. When I started the truck miss had mysteriously disappeared. I pulled a vacuum on the egr to see if it had any affect on engine... |

The customer decided to trade his truck rather than hassle with fixing it. I think one idea from Kenneth about checking the mode 6 data to see if something is close to failing preventing the monitor to run would be the next thing to ch... |
