What I found was a power problem to the burn off module that supplies power to maf for operation. Restored power to module & that did the trick.It was another reminder to not over-look the basics... 	1997 Oldsmobile 88 Royale 3.8L chime module VIN: 1G3HN52K7V chime module (bcm) was constantly in test mode. it is supposed to come out of test mode when the key is off or after 8mph. it was not. i removed the bcm and found a bad resister. replacing the module fixed the problem and the interior lights are working.	3
