The car hasn't come back in a few weeks, so I don't know if they took it to the emmision site or not. We called the emmision site to see if we could just get a tailpipe test and as far as I know it was undecided. Thank you all for the information.

Thank you for all the advice the problem was repaired. The fault was the crank sensor as the car has not played up since. The car still needs an airmass meter but the customer is hesitant in departing with the money.
