After carefully checking our work, and replacing the chain tensioner(old one came out in pieces, new one is a unit), we have determined that the cylinder miss is most likely responsible for the repeated codes indicating non-correlation of the crank and cam sen... Trouble codes: P1340 (Camshaft Position Sensor G40 / Engine Speed Sensor G28 Incorrect Correlation).

Dan from Michigan hit it on the head. I cleaned the fuel injectors twice per Dan's suggestion. I would not have thought of it on my own, because once the vehicle started, the engine purred like a kitten & drove great. Thanks for all the great suggestions. This one is fixed and down the road. Most of the 16 replies 'nailed it' by replacing the coolant sensor located below the T-stat. In addition, many of the replies also said to replace the T-stat at the same time. I did both. Car now starts and idles great. FYI...
