| 1999 Dodge Durango SLT 5.2L steering column VIN: 1B4HS28Y1X i replaced the intermidiate steering shaft and the problem was fixed. after removing the shaft we found that the shaft was siezed and that it was popping on take off and hard starts. Thanks everyone for your help. |

Chad from Minnesota hit the nail on the head by grounding the ASD control wire to energize it. If manually grounding the control side of the asd energizes it a PCM is needed.
