2003 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0L Poor Idle Quality, Surge, Cuts out, Misfire
Runs rough at idle, under load it backfires, and will shut off, hard to restart. Could the timing chain have slack and possibly jumped time. Customer stated he was driving the vehicle and it shut off. He towed it home and started replacing parts.
