Re: Formal customer complaint in Michigan
Posted to Shop Management Forum on 5/3/2016

Never had to deal with it in your state, but a previous shop I worked at had to handle a similar issue in a different state and I learned one thing out of that - take this matter seriously or plan on forking ALOT of money over to the customer and/or state (treble damages very common in these cases). From the info on your state's website it seems pretty straight forward on what they would be contacting you about http://www.michigan.gov/documents/sos-197_15930_7.pdf and http://www.michigan.gov/sos/0,4670,7-127-1585_50410_50412-33494--,00.html

Either contact a lawyer familiar with your state's consumer/auto repair laws and/or your local ASA chapter and find out what suggestions they have.

Hope you are able to get it all worked out.
