Am I blessed, or just lucky?
Holy hell, Dale, you and my wife sound just alike. You guys
need to become E-mail buddies and worry each other to death.
:-)
Seriously, great post, man. My wife worries enough for the
both of us to where I don't have to worry at all. I know
it's hard to believe, but I have low blood pressure. No
joke.
I'm about as easy going as they come. I'm so easy going that
they used to flame me all the time on another forum really
bad and I didn't give a sh**. After almost 20 years on the
forum they got tired of me and couldn't take it any more and
kicked me off. But that's another story. Oh, well...
I absolutely LOVE what I do for a living and wouldn't do
anything else. When I get home, I can usually be found
reading one or more trade magazines or on one of the trade
forums online, or answering some work-related E-mail. My
teenage hobby that I absolutely loved became my life's work.
In high school I worked in an auto parts store to where I
could get a discount on auto parts to make my car not only
run perfect, but fast, too. I learned how to rebuild
transmissions in high school in my garage. I was a pure
gearhead with a reputation of having the fastest car in the
school. It was my passion.
Now, I'm paid for my ultimate passion: transmissions. WHAT
WORRY??? I have fun at work. I feel sorry for people who
have ANY job that they think is just a job.
How cool would it be to be paid to be a professional
fisherman? Or a professional hunter? Or simply paid to do
whatever you do for a hobby? It would be like a woman paid
to be a buyer for a woman's department store. (and you know
how women LOVE to shop) That's what my job is like. I just
got lucky, that's all.
I have absolutely no problem sleeping like a baby at night.
Take an aspirin and make a post in the morning...
