James,
You KNOW those solenoids are high failure items and you KNOW
fuses don't blow for no reason at all. Playing Mr. Nice Guy
is a setup for "It's doing the same thing again." scenario.
Personally, I would let your experience speak and tell him
what you would do if it were your vehicle. I call it the
Jiminy Cricket principle of "Let your conscience be your
guide." I would have absolutely no qualms about selling the
customer what needed to be sold to keep that fuse from
blowing again. (and you know it will)
