My rant
Posted to Shop Management Forum on 2/4/2015 94 Replies

I've been on both sides of the table. Shop owner for the first 15 years of my career. Unfortunately,I was downsized from my last job, due to work being slow and I was the last hired.

So I'm asking.... If you post a job posting, here/newspaper/craigslist and you're asking for resumes, the why when I show up for an interview, am I handed an application, to fill out?

I feel bad if I don't want to... but why should I have to copy, all of what I've already emailed you? Might I mention, that I always show up with a copy, for the few, whose printers aren't working.... I remember the days, when "mechanics" { we weren't technicians back then} knew nothing of a resume in our field.

I realize some corporations, have their own " specialized" forms.... But for the independent shop owner? Just wanted to hear what other think on this
