What have we done to ourself?

Hi Y'all

I have been talking to quite a few business owners in this area covering all kinds of work. Anything from construction, plumbing, electricians to just a good ranch hand. Even though these are different industies the premise of business is the same.

Everyone is looking for people who will work for them. They hire someone that applies or from the work force commission. Some only last an hour and then quit. Some make it 4 hours then quit. The people in it for the long haul last about two weeks then quit.

When asked why they all say "I don't want to work this hard".

One guy around here has been going through the work force commission and they will not send him anymore applicants because they will not stay. He had a guy last year after working 1 hour and filed for unemployment against him. It took him a year to get this cleared up.

Is this a sign of the times or have we raised a generation or two that don't know how or just won't work?

So is the blue collar working man going by the wayside?
