Re: Greatest Transmission Textbook
Posted to Transmission Forum on 11/30/2015

"Trade", hell; it's a PROFESSION.

Anybody (as in automotive technician) can work on a vehicle. Not everybody can diagnose and rebuild a transmission. That makes it a profession. That's why there's a whole lot more automotive technicians than there are, dyed in the wool, transmission rebuilders.

CASE IN POINT: We no longer go to the automotive trade colleges looking for fresh recruits. We are going to the university's engineering departments. Those students know how, and will, study T&PO on their own. They already know electrical as in computer circuits. It's much easier to teach them because they are simply better students than automotive students.
