04 sonoma rear limited slip differentail
Rear end making howling noise under power - subsides or changes during coast. Diagnosed bad bearings and or ring and pinion. Opened rear end to find pinion bearing play and ring and pinion junk. Pull pinion shaft locking pin, and pinion shaft is stuck in one of the spiders. I can tell which gear as when pin is seized, only one gear in spider array has no free movement. Have beat the snot out of it, even with impact hammer, and pin will not come out. About a 1/4 inch movement at best. Ready to get torch out and cut apart. Any other suggestions before I star destroying things??
