2000 Saturn SL2 TAAT transmission
I have a 2000 Saturn SL2 with a TAAT transmission, (spin-on filter on the side). About a year ago it was hesitating going into reverse and soon it had a harsh shift. It broke two mounts, and set a code P0732 - incorrect gear 2 ratio. I pulled the side cover and tightened the loose nut, (the common problem), and replaced the side gasket but nothing more. The code cleared, but harsh reverse shift remains, but only while the transmission is hot. An adviser suggested replacing the pressure control solenoid. I tested it, and the rest of the solenoids at 4.6 ohms, and listened to them click. They all sounded the same. I replaced the solenoid anyway with no success. Did I miss something? Would the seals on the shaft under the side cover, or binding valves in the valve body cause a harsh or delayed shift into reverse? Is there something else I can check? Maybe a temperature sensor?
