Car came into shop with loud rattle at idle- chain slap. A new timing chain kit was installed. The timing was set and checked by a second technician. The chain guides were destroyed. Thanks for all of the help from everyone, after testing all suggested issues and finding no fault we ended up replacing the compressor with an OE part. Car has been gone a week and has not returned yet. Cross your fingers.
