Ok lots of awesome replies. The fix was to replace reman aftermarket starter with a denso. Seems the most aftermarket starters spin too slow and the crank sensor picks it up as a misfire and starts the domino of codes. I had customer bring his old repair recor... Trouble codes: P0339, P0302, P0303, P0300.

We could not get the car to duplicate the complaint after days of checking it out. It still would not set a code p0092 when unplugged from the FPR, only P0091. But we drove it over 50 miles with no problems. I still think the computer was the cause. Mazda deal... Trouble codes: P0089 (Fuel pressure regulator a perf), P0091 (Fuel pressure regulator a control circuit), P0171 (Sysytem too lean).
