| 2001 BMW X5 3.0i 3.0L Excessive Emissions, Poor Idle Quality, Hesitation, Surge, Misfire, MIL Lamp on VIN: WBAFA53541 After checking the vanos system and chain to make sure they were in line I removed the timing cover to find the timing had skipped.
