Chuck, I think there is a resistor inside the blower motor assy. BMW's also usually use what they call a final stage unit. Usually near the blower motor. Look for a plug with Brown w/Yellow, Green w/Brown, Blue w/Red, Brown and Green w/Yellow wires.
